I loved them, I loved their families (again awesome secondary characters!) and this beautiful love story. I didn’t read my review, the blurb or anyone else’s review before I started my re-read/listen of The Hookup. To be honest, I’m a little surprised at how much I enjoyed it. This was a fairly tame and low angst listen, that flowed easily. If anything, I spent most of this listen waiting for the bombs to drop, hearts to be broken or for some major douchewaffle moves by the hero. Sure, there was stuff, but it was all pretty chill and the drama swirled around the main characters instead of between them.

If you have been following me since I started blogging, you know by now that Kristen Ashley is probably my absolute favorite romance author. I always get extremely excited when she announces or releases anything and The Hookup was no exception. This baby practically appeared out of nowhere when KA announced it and, of course, she made it into another outstanding piece of writing.
The story is engaging, with some drama / suspense , with characters that you’ll adore and a couple that will melt your insides (including your panties!). If you’re new to KA books, this would actually be a great one to start with if you want! It’s very quintessential KA style and I think its storyline and characters will appeal to pretty much anyone who loves reading romance. But as much as he opened up to her in bed, she could tell he was keeping some walls up.
LOL So there’s the proof of my love for this gal. She just has a way of writing women who aren’t whiny and crying all the time that I appreciate. I love her alpha men and her feisty heroines. So I was pretty excited about this new book and series. Someone who left him and did it leaving him broken.

I loved both the hero and the heroine, especially him. There was drama towards the end of course, but it was work-related not stupidity-related. I will check out other books in the series now. He genuinely loved her and never played games.
